Congratulations to Adnaan on his presentation on the results of GloveGuide, his team’s HCI Class project from 2025. Other presentations from our lab included Sabrina’s paper on an improved CPDLC interface for datalink communications with aircraft, and Hélène and Elodie’s best paper on resolution of in-flight abnormal situations. Jeremy also participated in the workshop on HCI Design in an AI-empowered world.
Bravo! Corentin successfully defended his PhD, and is back to France to start his post-doctoral fellowship at the École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC).
Our paper, “Towards a Speech-based Resolution of In-Flight Abnormal Situations” authored by Hélène Unrein, Elodie Bouzekri and Benoit Ouellette, is being awarded “best paper” of the Engineering Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics conference, as part of HCI International 2026.
Andrea received a fellowship to support her participation in the 23rd International Summer Academy on AI in Healthcare, Medicine, and Biology in Chalkida, Greece.
Henrique was selected to participate in the Mila Venture Scientist Bootcamp to pursue his proposed internention of Motivational Interviewing as a means to tackle the enormous societal problem of compulsive consumption of social media.
Delighted to announce that we’re part of the recently awarded NSERC CREATE grant in Disrupting Surgery with Interventional Technology and Engineering and looking to recruit qualified graduate and postdoctoral researchers with interest in tackling engineering challenges related to surgical technology, medical devices, and healthcare innovation. Partial funding is available to support eligible candidates in the program.
